Join the City of Nedlands as an Information Management Officer.

The City of Nedlands is located 7km from the Perth CBD and includes a diverse range of features from the beautiful river foreshore of Dalkeith and Nedlands to the crisp white sands of Swanbourne beach. About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Information Management Officer to support the City’s information governance, privacy, and cyber security functions. Reporting to the Information Technology Governance Coordinator, this role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, including the State Records Act 2000, Freedom of Information Act 1992, and the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act 2024 (WA).

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and enhance the City’s EDRMS platforms (e.g. TRIM, SharePoint, RecordPoint, TechnologyOne ECM) and support digitisation projects.
  • Facilitate FOI requests and ensure compliance with the Freedom of Information Act 1992.
  • Conduct audits and contribute to the development and review of policies, procedures, and formal documentation.
  • Interpret and apply legislation related to privacy, cyber security, and responsible information sharing, including the Essential Eight framework.
  • Deliver training and promote awareness of compliant recordkeeping, privacy, and information security across the organisation.

About the Successful Candidate

You are a collaborative and organised professional with a strong understanding of information and records management. You are confident working with legislation, systems, and stakeholders, and you take pride in delivering high-quality, compliant services.

Requirements

  • A formal qualification or have a minimum 2 years’ experience in an Information Management-related field, ideally within a local government setting.
  • Sound knowledge of records management, FOI, privacy, and cyber security legislation and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience managing both physical and digital records, particularly using SharePoint and RecordPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and deliver training.
  • A current ‘C’ class Driver’s Licence and National Police Certificate.

What We Offer

This full-time, 1 year contract position offers a salary of $74,478 - $82,317 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, plus superannuation.
