What is the role?
The AFP is looking for highly motivated, skilled, enthusiastic and customer focused individuals to fill immediate roles at the Band 6 level as well as anticipated vacancies at the Band 7 level. A merit pool will also be formed from this process for future roles (nationally).
Current vacancies are:
- Team Leader Information Management (Band 7)
- Senior Team Member Information Management (Band 6)
The Information Management unit sits within the Chief Information Officer (CIO) portfolio and champions the AFP’s digital capabilities by implementing information management initiatives to support the goals of the agency.
What will you do?
Band 7 – Team Leader Information Management
The Team Leader Information Management will play a key role in shaping the delivery of significant programs of work to mature the enterprise-wide information, records and data strategies with a focus on implementation of modern practices, systems and initiatives.
- Drive initiatives for the implementation of enterprise information and records management solutions to reduce cost and complexity, increase trust and integrity, and improve operational effectiveness.
- Review and implement AFP Information Management strategies, policies and guidelines, in line with digital transformation activities, modern practice and compliance requirements.
- Drive facets of the implementation and adaption of the AFP’s new Digital Records Management Solution (DRMS).
- Develop new information management processes to support the implementation and sustainment of holistic records management and digitisation initiatives.
- Consult, gather requirements and develop compliant, innovative and modern user-centric solutions to information and records management challenges.
- Evaluate and implement methods for enhancing business efficiency by digitising and streamlining existing processes and practices.
- Provide expert advice, guidance and support to AFP staff and stakeholders on information, records and data management matters.
- Coach, lead, mentor and develop team members to ensure continual development and cross-skilling within the team
Band 6 – Senior Information Management Officer
- Support leadership and project teams to implement enterprise information and records management program of works
- Manage business-focused consultation to identify current process, gather requirements and support implementation of innovative solutions to meet end-user functional needs and compliance requirements.
- Develop new records management processes to support the implementation and sustainment of holistic records management and digitisation initiatives.
- Manage, maintain and support digital and hybrid records management system(s) in line with overarching AFP processes
- Develop and implement modernised information management strategies, policies and guidelines
- Lead and deliver training to AFP personnel in various formats
- Provide expert guidance and support to AFP staff and stakeholders on information, records and data management
Essential Requirements
- Current Australian Citizenship.
- Security Clearance to NV1 or the ability to obtain one.
- Formal qualifications from a recognised tertiary institution or extensive demonstrated equivalent skills and experience in information and records management in a government context.
- Demonstrated experience in information and records implementation and/or enhancement projects
- Demonstrated practical expertise in one or more specific information or records management disciplines in a government legislative context
- Demonstrated aptitude for adaptability in the use of different technologies in an administrative capacity.
- Proven ability to complete tasks independently, and work as a member of a proactive and virtual team.
- Demonstrated effective team leadership and individual mentoring experience (Required for Band 7 only)

Additional Information
