Job summary

We are seeking an experienced Information Architect to support a major transformation program within a Federal Government environment.

The Information Architect will be responsible for designing, structuring and governing business information assets to ensure they are consistently structured, classified, governed and integrated across business systems and services.

The role will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand information requirements, assess the current information landscape and design sustainable future-state information architectures aligned with broader business, data and enterprise architecture objectives.Key responsibilities:

• Facilitate stakeholder workshops and information discovery activities.
• Assess and document the current-state information landscape, including existing information assets, repositories and structures.
• Analyse information flows, dependencies, governance requirements, risks and opportunities.
• Develop information architecture frameworks, models and structures.
• Define taxonomies, metadata frameworks, classification schemes and content structures.
• Document integration and interoperability requirements across systems and services.
• Develop information governance recommendations, standards and supporting documentation.
• Ensure information architecture aligns with enterprise, business, data and solution architecture practices.
• Address relevant privacy, records management, security classification and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare architecture artefacts, briefing papers, standards, roadmaps and executive presentations.
• Support implementation, adoption, stakeholder engagement and governance activities.
• Work within an Agile delivery environment, including maintaining work items in Azure DevOps.
• Provide knowledge transfer and handover to build internal capability.

Required experience:

• Strong experience designing, implementing and governing enterprise information architectures.
• Experience developing information models, taxonomies, metadata frameworks, classification structures and content architectures.
• Strong information management and governance experience.
• Experience assessing current-state information environments and designing future-state architectures.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills, including working with senior executives, architects, delivery teams and governance forums.
• Experience developing logical and conceptual information models.
• Understanding of privacy, records management, security classifications and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to align information architecture with broader enterprise, data, solution and business architecture.
• Strong written communication and architecture documentation skills.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
• Ability to collaborate effectively, build trust and create alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
