Job summary
Queensland Government is seeking an Infectious Diseases Consultant/Microbiologist to improve health outcomes across the Darling Downs region. You will deliver expert clinical advice, guide safe care, and lead multidisciplinary teams to ensure high standards.
Responsibilities include advancing infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship and education, while partnering with laboratories and clinicians to strengthen services and support workforce development.
Qualifications
- Specialist registration in Infectious Diseases in Australia.
- Specialist registration in Microbiology/Pathology in Australia.
- Demonstrated expertise in infectious diseases management across high-risk patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist infectious diseases expertise to support diagnosis, treatment and outcomes.
- Lead infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship and quality use of medicines programs.
- Partner with clinicians, labs and health leaders to drive safe, coordinated care.
- Support education, mentorship, research and service improvement across the workforce.
