Job summary

Tasmanian Government's Department of Health invites applications for a permanent, part-time Lead Infection Prevention and Control role based at Level 4, H Block, Liverpool St, South region.

Lead infection prevention and control initiatives through expert advice, education, surveillance and quality improvement to enhance patient safety. Pro rata for part-time hours; salary range $109,767 to $115,813 per annum under Nurses and Midwives Award.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with NMBA (AHPRA) registration required.
• Postgraduate qualification desirable.
• Experience in infection prevention and control.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate leadership for the infection prevention portfolio including risk assessment and data collection.
• Deliver professional development and education sessions for multidisciplinary staff.
• Contribute to quality improvement and service delivery through audits and data analysis.
• Provide specialist consultancy on infection prevention principles and procedures.
• Develop and maintain audit tools and reporting for IPC portfolio.
