Job summary

Thornton Engineering is seeking an Industrial Spray Painter (NACE 1 or 2) at our Geelong facility to oversee blast and paint quality, inspections and data recording. You will guide the spray staff to meet quality standards and project deadlines.

Requirements include a trade qualification and NACE level 1/2, plus 3+ years in a paint workshop. We offer permanent full-time employment, day shift, competitive hourly rates, superannuation, and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification and NACE certification required.
• 1-3 years experience in a paint workshop environment.
• Experience with AS blasting/painting codes preferred.
• Ability to mentor and supervise staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and mentorship to blast and paint staff.
• Monitor blast/paint performance and ensure correct systems.
• Record all blast/paint activities in QC database.
• Prepare reports for MDR requirements.
• Maintain compliance with WHS, quality, and project timelines.
