Job summary

Skilled Jobs Australia in the northern metropolitan area of Adelaide is seeking a sandblaster to support metal surface preparation and finishing across heavy machinery. You will prepare, clean, grind, shape and treat metal to meet strict industrial specifications while adhering to safety and environmental standards.

Key duties include interpreting engineering drawings, selecting and applying surface prep media, operating and calibrating blasting equipment, and conducting quality control.

Qualifications

• Must have AQF certificate II or at least 2 years of experience.
• Minimum of at least 12 months of fulltime experience in a similar role.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, clean, grind, shape and treat metal surfaces to meet specifications.
• Interpret engineering drawings.
• Select and apply surface preparation media and techniques.
• Operate and calibrate blasting equipment.
• Perform quality control and inspection.
• Apply post-blasting protection.
• Maintain blasting equipment.
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental standards.
