Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a mechanical technician role within industrial maintenance, mining, or heavy engineering environments.
• Proficiency in reading and preparing mechanical drawings and CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, machine tools, and mechanical assemblies.
• Experience in field testing, data collection, and analysis of mechanical systems.
• Ability to estimate material quantities and costs accurately.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication for collaborating with engineers and site teams.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to work on-site.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed mechanical drawings, plans, and designs under supervision, focusing on industrial plant and equipment modifications.
• Assist in designing mechanical equipment and hydraulic power systems for site upgrades and shutdowns.
• Assemble, install, and modify mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools, and hydraulic power systems, ensuring safety and performance.
• Perform field and laboratory tests on machinery to validate performance under load and analyze data to support decisions.
• Estimate material costs and quantities for maintenance and capital works, and prepare procurement reports.
• Organize and supervise inspection and maintenance schedules to maximize uptime and reliability.
• Ensure all designs and work meet specifications, regulations, and contract provisions.
