Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in Weatherill Park, Sydney, Australia, is seeking an Electrical Technician to install, maintain, repair, test and troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems used in the plant. The role involves working with production machinery, control panels, wiring and automation systems to ensure safe, reliable operations.

The successful candidate will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and production

Qualifications

• Tertiary or Trade Qualifications required.
• Current NSW Electrical Licence (Qualified Supervisor).
• SCADA and PLC knowledge preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles.
• Knowledge of Australian electrical standards and WHS regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance of electrical systems on buildings, installations and appliances.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical breakdowns in a manufacturing environment and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret electrical and electrical engineering schematics and technical drawings.
• Install, maintain and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems, including motors, control panels and PLCs.
