Job summary

Radium Control Solutions, a specialist in industrial automation and control systems, is seeking a talented electrician in Sydney. The role covers site-based maintenance, breakdowns, and new projects, with in-house panel building and a pathway toward design and development of control systems.

We provide a phone, laptop and vehicle for use in the role, plus base salary with super, bonuses, and travel/LAHA support.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of industrial electrical experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical control circuit wiring including relay logic.
• Willingness to learn new technologies, systems and equipment.
• Willing to work overtime when needed.
• Ability to work unsupervised and communicate clearly.
• High level of understanding of electrical principles.
• Experience/training with PLC, HMI and SCADA is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, IEC symbols preferred.

Responsibilities

• Site based planned maintenance, breakdown/repair work and support for new projects.
• Build control panels in house and contribute to design and development.
• Provide site support and shift cover as needed to meet operational requirements.
• Participate in in-house training on PLC, HMI, SCADA and control electrical design.
• Travel where required; travel costs reimbursed and accommodated.

Radium Control Solutions are a specialist industrial automation and control solution provider. We solve complex problems and have a high level of skill with servo's and motion control. We deal with major industrial automation brands including Rockwell/Allen Bradley, ComAp, Siemens, Omron, Pilz, Schneider, SEW and SICK.

We have a diverse range of customers in varying industries in Sydney. We're growing our team and capability - and looking for the right person.

The Role

We're looking for a talented, passionate and experienced electrician. Our work is a mix of site based planned maintenance, breakdown/repair work and new projects. We build control panels in house. There will be breakdowns, planned maintenance, site support and shift cover work from time to time - our focus is on serving our customers in a planned way which means the bulk of our work is during the week and occasionally on weekends to suit operational needs. We're looking for someone who wants to get more exposure to design and development of control and automation in addition to their hands on skills, and we're willing to help you get that experience and training.

Experience or the desire to enter a supervisory role would be highly regarded.

You will be provided with a phone, laptop and vehicle for use in the role in addition to the base salary and super. We offer bonuses and incentives to people who perform well on projects and contribute to the project success. LAHA (etc.) is paid for any work requiring travel, along with accomodation and travel costs. We pay travel costs to site including driving to sites. All travel is paid on the hours you work - so if you're travelling in OT, you get paid OT.

In house training on PLC, HMI, SCADA and control electrical design

Courses paid for by us to improve skills based on your interests (e.g. EEHA, Functional Safety, PLC/Drives)

As a Rockwell Recognised Systems Integrator, we provide full access to online training on Rockwell products

Access to current PLC and control technologies in the workshop to test with and learn. We have current Allen Bradley, Siemens and Omron PLC's, HMI, VSD's and Servo's to configure and test in the workshop as part of our in house test rigs.

We keep a good selection of tools to make jobs more efficient and easier and provide tools in addition to tool allowances.

Skills/Experience

To be successful in gaining a role with us, you need:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of industrial electrical experience
• Strong knowledge of electrical control circuit wiring including hard wired "relay" logic
• The desire to learn new technologies, systems and equipment
• Willing to work overtime when needed
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Good communications skills
• High level of understanding of electrical principles
• Previous experience/training with PLC, HMI and SCADA programming is desirable, but not essential.
• Ability to read Electrical drawings is essential, preferably with IEC symbols.

To be considered for this role, you must have current and valid:

• Supervisor level NSW Electrical Licence or Contractor licence accepted
• Australian Drivers Licence
• Currently live in Australian with valid residency and work rights. Overseas visa applicants will not be considered.
