Job summary

SamePage Personnel in Melbourne seeks an Industrial Automation Electrician to support manufacturing and FMCG clients. You’ll perform scheduled electrical maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and troubleshoot PLC-based systems across multiple sites, ensuring safe, reliable production.

PLC installation, testing and fault-finding are core to the role. We expect at least three years in industrial electrical work, a current A-Grade Licence, and strong communication with customers.

Qualifications

• Current Victorian A-Grade Electrical Licence required.
• At least three years' industrial electrical experience in manufacturing environments.
• Practical PLC experience including installation, testing, and fault-finding.
• Strong diagnostic skills and ability to identify root causes.
• Experience with industrial machinery, automation systems and VSDs.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
• Commitment to safety, quality workmanship and customer service.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Valid driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out scheduled and preventative electrical maintenance across industrial and manufacturing sites.
• Responding to breakdowns, diagnosing faults and restoring production equipment.
• Installing, testing, resetting and troubleshooting PLCs and related control systems.
• Fault-finding industrial automation equipment, electrical control circuits, motors and VSDs.
• Supporting planned shutdowns, equipment servicing and upgrades.
• Assisting with automation improvements, control system modifications and commissioning.
• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and control diagrams.
• Working with customers, maintenance teams and production staff to resolve issues.
• Maintaining high standards of electrical safety, workmanship and customer service.
