Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice in Kempsey seeks an Aboriginal Assistant Manager to lead the Youth Justice Community Office. The role focuses on reducing re-offending and improving reintegration, with a commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives.

You will manage a multidisciplinary team, oversee service delivery, partnerships, risk management, and data integrity, ensuring safety and quality while aligning with departmental policies.

Qualifications

• Requires tertiary qualifications (diploma or higher) in social work or related field, or equivalent experience.
• A current NSW Driver’s Licence.
• Current NSW Working with Children Check clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team delivering youth justice programs in Kempsey.
• Ensure effective service delivery and resources management.
• Supervise staff, review case plans, and oversee risk and duty of care.
• Maintain accurate records and data in the unit's systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to meet program outcomes and standards.
• Communicate decisions clearly and transparently to staff.
