Job summary

Australian Red Cross is offering a 2-year maximum term, part-time role (0.8 FTE, 30.4 hours per week) based in Moree with hybrid work requiring two days in office. The officer will build local connections, run workshops, and guide communities through the RediCommunities process from engagement to action planning and evaluation, aligning with humanitarian principles and emergency management frameworks.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and expertise and/or lived experience in disaster resilience, recovery and community engagement.
• Practical skills in working with communities to build resilience, facilitate engagement and support locally led outcomes.
• As an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, community and country.
• Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, including genuine and transparent consultation and negotiation.
• Ability to deliver training, workshops, and resources.
• A Driver's licence and Working with children check (or ability to obtain one) are mandatory requirements of the role.
