Job summary

North West Hospital and Health Service in Queensland seeks an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner to provide culturally responsive maternity care. You will work with midwives and a multidisciplinary team across antenatal assessments, health checks, education and follow-up.

Responsibilities include facilitating informed health choices, care planning, and connecting with local communities to support positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander to meet genuine occupational requirement.
• Certificate IV and/or Diploma in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health.
• Current registration as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner (ATSIHPBA).

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, culturally responsive care to women and families throughout pregnancy.
• Deliver clinical care across antenatal assessments, health checks, education, referrals and follow-up.
• Collaborate with midwives, multidisciplinary team and local communities to support positive health outcomes.
