Job summary

The University of Melbourne invites applications for an academic position in the Indigenous Law and Justice Hub within Melbourne Law School. The role focuses on teaching, research, engagement and leadership in Indigenous legal scholarship, with a commitment to culturally safe curricula and partnerships with First Nations scholars.

You will contribute to the Melbourne Juris Doctor and related programs, supervise research students, publish nationally and internationally, and help lead Indigenous

Qualifications

• Strong academic background in law with postgraduate qualifications, including a PhD or equivalent.
• Developing, established or internationally recognised record of legal research and publication.
• Teaching experience and commitment to high-quality legal education and student outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Teaching in the Melbourne Juris Doctor, Melbourne Law Masters and undergraduate Breadth programs.
• Contributing to curriculum and subject development, especially for Indigenous law topics.
• Supervising coursework or higher degree research students as appropriate.
• Undertaking high-quality legal research and publishing in leading outlets.
• Building partnerships through the Indigenous Law and Justice Hub and engaging with communities.
