Job summary

Wide Bay Hospital & Health Service is seeking an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker or Practitioner (Trainee) to improve health outcomes for Indigenous people in the Wide Bay region through culturally appropriate services and education.

In this temporary full-time position (76 hours p.f.) for up to 18 months, you will work with communities and health teams to address barriers to care, with potential extension and competitive remuneration.

Responsibilities

• Enhance the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within WBHHS through culturally appropriate services and information delivery.
• Collaborate with individuals, family and community leaders using engaging approaches to address barriers to healthcare access and follow up.
