Job summary

Wide Bay Hospital & Health Service – Hervey Bay QLD is recruiting an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advanced Health Worker. The role supports social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing for Indigenous people with mental illness within a multidisciplinary mental health team.

You will develop and deliver primary health care within the integrated service, focusing on prevention, education, intervention and promotion for individuals, families and communities.

Qualifications

• Provide culturally sensitive social, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and families with a mental illness.
• Develop, implement and deliver primary health care within an integrated mental health service environment with a multidisciplinary team focus.
• Develop and strengthen partnerships with Indigenous Community Control Health Services and NGOs.

Responsibilities

• Provide culturally sensitive social, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and families with a mental illness across all clinical components with multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop and deliver primary health care within an integrated mental health service environment with prevention, education, intervention and promotion activities for individuals, families and community groups.
• Strengthen celebrative partnerships and referral pathways with Indigenous Community Control Health Services and NGOs.
