Job summary

MSS Security Pty Ltd in Canberra (ACT) is seeking Security Officers to join the Defence team across Defence sites. You will work with a professional, discreet team to protect personnel, assets and critical infrastructure, on sites requiring high standards.

We welcome Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants. The role offers rostered ongoing work, training, and Career progression within the Defence security environment.

Responsibilities

• Site Security & Patrols – Monitoring access points and conducting regular foot patrols.
• Stakeholder Engagement – Liaising with Defence personnel, contractors and visitors.
• Incident Response & Emergency Management – Responding to alarms, emergencies and security incidents.
• Compliance & Reporting – Documenting incidents and shift activities per site protocols.

Your duties may include

• Site Security & Patrols – Monitoring access points, conducting regular foot patrols and maintaining a strong security presence to protect personnel, assets and infrastructure.


• Stakeholder Engagement – Liaising professionally with Defence personnel, contractors and visitors while supporting a safe and secure environment.


• Incident Response & Emergency Management – Responding promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, suspicious activity and security incidents.


• Compliance & Reporting – Following Defence security procedures and site protocols while accurately documenting incidents, shift activities and observations.
