Job summary

UNSW Sydney is recruiting an Indigenous academic leader to serve as Associate Dean Indigenous Education and Student Success in the Faculty of Science. The senior role combines leadership and ongoing teaching/research, with a fractional leadership appointment between 0.5 and 0.8 FTE and a concurrent continuing academic appointment.

The appointee will advance Indigenous knowledges, student outcomes, and curricular reform, reporting to the Deputy Dean Education.

Qualifications

• Identification with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander status is required.
• Experience in teaching, curriculum development, educational leadership, or professional practice.
• Leadership experience in higher education or related sectors is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Shape Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education, student success and curriculum across the Faculty of Science.
• Lead representation of Indigenous Knowledges across the Faculty curriculum with staff and communities.
• Teach responsibilities may apply; balance leadership and academic work per workload discussions.
• Collaborate with Indigenous staff to strengthen shared leadership and impact.
• Report to the Deputy Dean Education as part of the senior leadership team.
