Job summary

Catholic Education Diocese of Rockhampton in Queensland is seeking a dedicated First Nations Education Liaison Officer for St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Wandal. This term-time continuing role offers 24 hours per week, commencing January 2027.

The successful candidate will support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and families, provide targeted academic support, and work closely with school staff to improve educational outcomes.

Qualifications

• A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and spiritualities.
• An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, their families and school staff to improve educational outcomes through targeted and direct academic support.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted academic support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
• Collaborate with families and school staff to improve educational outcomes.
• Support the implementation of culturally informed programs and activities within the school.
