Peg’s Creek Primary School invites applications for an Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer (AIEO). This permanent, full-time role commences Term 1, 2027 and focuses on empowering Indigenous students through culturally relevant learning programs and strong community partnerships.

The AIEO will mentor students, provide pastoral care, and collaborate with staff and families to promote inclusion, respect and academic success for our Indigenous learners.

Qualifications

• Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification for this position.
• Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have valid work rights for the term.
• Must obtain Working With Children Check and a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.

Responsabilités

• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for Indigenous students.
• Mentor and provide pastoral care to Indigenous students, especially those at risk.
• Liaise with teachers, families and the local Indigenous community to shape culturally relevant programs.
• Conduct home visits to discuss student progress and orientation for staff about the Indigenous community.
