Job summary

NSW Department of Education is seeking a dedicated individual to join as a School Learning Support Officer. The role involves supporting students with diverse learning needs in classrooms and other learning environments under the supervision of a teacher.

You will contribute to student welfare, health and wellbeing activities, and may assist in streams such as pre-school, vision/hearing support or bilingual settings where applicable. Completion of required checks and trainings is essential.

Qualifications

• Working with Children Check Clearance is required.
• Mandatory training required by the Department of Education, with a willingness to undertake first aid training.
• Administration of Medications – training provided based on student needs.
• Health support training to be provided based on student needs (subject to transition provisions).

Responsibilities

• Support students with identified diverse learning needs in classrooms and other learning environments under the direction and supervision of a teacher.
• Assist with student welfare, health and wellbeing activities as required.
• Provide additional duties for streams/settings such as pre-school, vision support, hearing support, and bilingual where applicable.
