Job summary

Sutherland Shire Council is seeking ISS Support Workers to join our Early Education & Child Protection Team, helping children with higher support needs participate in early childhood education with extra care in a safe, nurturing environment.

You will work with educators to tailor play-based learning, support inclusion, and build positive relationships. The role includes ensuring well-being and development for each child while engaging families in the process.

Qualifications

• Experience working in early childhood education and care settings.
• Experience supporting children with additional or high support needs.
• NSW Working with Children Check for paid employment.
• Commitment to undertake First Aid and Child Protection training.

Responsibilities

• Assist children with additional support needs during daily routines such as meals, rest, and hygiene.
• Support children’s participation in play and learning activities, adapting to their individual needs.
• Encourage positive interactions, respect, and fairness among all children.
• Work closely with families and educators to support each child’s development.
