Job description

Cybersecurity | Digital Forensics | Incident Management

Are you someone who stays calm under pressure, thinks critically, and knows how to take control when it matters most?

We’re partnering with a specialist cybersecurity organisation looking for an Incident Response Coordinator to play a critical role in managing and coordinating cyber incidents from the initial call through to response and resolution.

This is a unique opportunity for someone with experience in incident response, emergency management or a similar high-pressure environment who wants to apply their skills within the cybersecurity and digital forensics space.

You’ll act as the first point of contact when an incident occurs, coordinating specialist technical teams, communicating with affected organisations and their legal representatives, and ensuring incidents are handled professionally and efficiently.

When you’re not responding to live incidents, you’ll help organisations strengthen their preparedness through readiness assessments, tabletop exercises and ongoing incident response retainer services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Incident Coordination: Act as the first point of contact for incoming incident calls, gathering information, assessing the situation and determining the appropriate response.
  • Triage & Assessment: Develop an initial understanding of what has occurred, assess the urgency and scope of the incident, and coordinate the appropriate response.
  • Team Mobilisation: Assemble and coordinate Digital Forensics and Incident Response specialists to ensure a timely and effective response.
  • Stakeholder Management: Work directly with affected organisations, senior stakeholders and legal representatives, including law firms, throughout the incident lifecycle.
  • Technical Communication: Translate complex technical findings into clear, practical language that non-technical stakeholders can understand.
  • Incident Readiness: Deliver proactive retainer services, including tabletop exercises, incident response planning and organisational readiness activities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Help organisations improve their incident response capabilities and preparedness for future cyber incidents.
  • On-Call Response: Participate in an on-call roster and provide support outside standard business hours when incidents arise.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in incident response, whether within cybersecurity, emergency management, fire and emergency services, or another high-pressure operational environment.
  • An understanding of cybersecurity incidents and the challenges organisations face during a cyber event is highly desirable.
  • The ability to remain calm, composed and methodical when dealing with time-sensitive or high-pressure situations.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information in plain English.
  • Confidence engaging with a range of stakeholders, including distressed clients, senior decision-makers and legal professionals.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple people and activities during a fast-moving incident.
  • Flexibility to participate in an on-call roster and work outside standard business hours when required.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
  • Work at the intersection of cybersecurity, digital forensics and incident management.
  • Play a pivotal role in helping organisations navigate some of their most challenging moments.
  • Work alongside specialist technical professionals in a collaborative, high-impact environment.
  • Develop your expertise in cyber incident response, preparedness and crisis coordination.
  • Bring your existing incident management experience into a growing and increasingly important area of cybersecurity.
