Job summary

Gledswood Hills High School in New South Wales seeks an educator to lead the development of the Supported Learning Unit (SLU) for students with Autism and other complex learning needs. This inaugural SLU teacher will set curriculum foundations and assist in establishing the unit for 2027.

The role requires NSW teaching approval, capability to differentiate instruction, and strong collaboration with mainstream teachers, support staff, families and external agencies to build inclusive practice

Qualifications

• Approval to teach Special Education in Autism, Behaviour Difficulties, Emotional Disturbance and Mild Intellectual Disability Secondary.
• Demonstrated capacity to differentiate curriculum and implement evidence-informed practices for students with complex needs.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with ability to collaborate with staff, families and external agencies.
