Job summary

Sacks Legal Recruitment is seeking a Legal Counsel for a broad commercial and regulatory in-house role within an ASX-listed organisation. You will provide pragmatic advice across commercial contracts, financial services regulation, consumer credit, marketing and governance.

You will report to the General Counsel, translating complex issues into clear guidance, supporting ASX governance, and working with senior stakeholders to balance commercial aims with regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years' PQE
• Strong commercial legal experience, in-house or top-tier firm
• Experience across commercial contracts, financial services, regulatory or consumer law
• Excellent drafting and communication, with plain-English style
• Proactive, collaborative, able to own matters from start to finish

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, commercially-focused legal advice to a range of business units.
• Advise on commercial contracts, leases, marketing and sponsorship arrangements.
• Support corporate governance matters, including ASX Listing Rules.
• Advise on regulatory and compliance requirements across a range of frameworks.
• Provide legal support in relation to consumer credit, financial services and product development.
• Review loan, security and ancillary documentation for enforceability and regulatory compliance.
• Advise on marketing collateral and consumer-facing communications in plain English.
• Support management of escalated customer and third-party complaints.
• Assist with contentious matters and litigation.
• Support corporate regulatory requirements and collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Work with the business on product development, policies, codes and training.
