Job summary

Omni-Care is hiring a Support Worker to deliver in-home aged care across Melbourne’s North, North East and East. You will travel between clients’ homes to provide daily living support, companionship, and health monitoring in a patient-centered, respectful environment.

The role emphasises independence, community connection, and consistent scheduling with flexible weekday availability. Training and safeguarding checks are required to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Genuine passion for supporting others.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Current Victorian Driver's License and a reliable, insured vehicle.
• Current Police Check or NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Minimum availability of 3 weekdays (incl. Mon and/or Fri).

Responsibilities

• Assist with household cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe home.
• Prepare simple, nutritious meals.
• Assist with shopping or accompany clients to the shops.

About the role

As a Support Worker with Omni-Care, you'll help clients live independently, feel respected, and stay connected to their community by providing in-home aged care support in one or more local council areas across Melbourne's North, North East and East. This role involves travelling between clients' homes to deliver high quality care.

Key responsibilities

• Support clients with showering, grooming, and daily hygiene routines
• Assist with household cleaning and laundry tasks to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment
• Prepare simple, nutritious meals
• Assist with shopping errands or accompany clients to the shops
• Provide pick up/drop off services and drive clients where they need to go
• Provide respite care, relieving informal carers from their duties for a specific time in or out of home
• Engage clients in companionship, social outings, home-based activities, and appointment activities
• Observe and report changes in physical or emotional health

About you

• A genuine passion for supporting others and making a positive impact
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, or IV in Aging Support, Diploma of Nursing or Bachelor of Nursing with accompanying academic transcript (students nearing completion welcome to apply)
• Current Victorian Driver's License and reliable, insured vehicle
• Current Police Check or NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Minimum availability of 3 weekdays (including Monday and/or Friday)
• Set your weekday availability - while total hours may vary week to week, your nominated days and times stay consistent to support reliable scheduling
• Travel reimbursement between clients
