Job summary

EDS Support Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a caring Aged or Disabled Carer to assist clients in Mareeba and surrounding areas with daily activities in their homes and community settings.

You will help clients maintain safety, independence and engagement while respecting their choices and dignity, with responsibilities covering personal care, meal prep, domestic tasks and transport to activities.

Qualifications

• AQF Certificate III in Ageing or Disability and related qualifications.
• Clear communication and ability to document care notes accurately.
• Current First Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain before start.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with showering, grooming, dressing and personal-care routines.
• Support safe movement, transfers and use of mobility aids per instructions.
• Prepare meals and refreshments per dietary needs and preferences.
• Provide light household assistance including cleaning, laundry and tidying.
• Help clients participate in social activities and accompany to appointments and outings.
• Offer companionship and encouragement to promote independence and social connection.
• Monitor wellbeing and report changes to supervisor promptly.
• Maintain accurate care notes and service documentation.
• Follow support plans and safeguarding and infection-control procedures.
