Job summary

Teachers Health Group is seeking a Full-Time Optometrist at Charlestown Health Centre to provide comprehensive eye examinations and high-quality eye care. You will work with Optical Assistants and the Health Centre team to deliver outstanding service and clinical care.

You will diagnose ocular diseases, manage refractive assessments, and maintain strong relationships with patients while contributing to patient satisfaction and growth objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Optometry is required.
• Current unrestricted AHPRA registration is mandatory.
• Membership with Optometry Australia and Medicare Provider Registration are required.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations in line with AHPRA and Optometry Australia guidelines.
• Diagnose and manage ocular diseases and systemic conditions, referring when appropriate.
• Deliver exceptional patient care and customer service.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with patients and colleagues.
• Respond to patient enquiries and concerns professionally and effectively.
• Participate in clinical safety, quality, and education initiatives.
• Maintain and calibrate clinical equipment and optometry tools.
• Support practice operations, including Medicare reconciliation and inventory management.
• Contribute to team performance, customer retention, and growth objectives.
• Stay up to date with industry developments and best-practice optometry standards.
