Job summary

Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is seeking a motivated scientist to join the Beavis Laboratory to advance cancer immunotherapy through lymphocyte and CAR trafficking strategies.

The role requires experience in molecular biology, tissue culture and flow cytometry, with CRISPR/Cas9 and genetically engineered T cells considered highly desirable. A strong communication skill set and flexibility to learn new techniques are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree: BSc (Honours) or equivalent.
• Experience with mouse work and animal models.
• Experience with Immunological assays and flow cytometry.
• Experience with cell culture, molecular biology and biochemical techniques.
• Experience in general laboratory duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform experiments to high standards and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate weekly activities to team and participate in meetings.
• Collaborate with colleagues and foster good working relationships.
• Train junior staff and students in relevant techniques.
• Adhere to OHS policies and emergency procedures.
• Assist with laboratory administration and procurement as needed.
