Job summary

Wan & Co Lawyers, a specialist immigration law firm in Sydney CBD, seeks an Immigration Lawyer with 2–4 years' post-qualification experience. Work directly with the Principal to manage complex cases, with mentorship and significant responsibility in a paperless, collaborative environment.

The role focuses on merits review, visa refusals and health-related issues, with opportunities for career development and a competitive base salary of $85,000–$100,000 plus superannuation.

Qualifications

• Admitted as a lawyer in Australia with at least 2 years post-qualification experience in immigration law.
• Bachelor of Laws or higher is required; NSW admission and practicing certificate.
• Fluency in another language (e.g., Chinese) is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance and draft documentation for immigration matters.
• Meet clients to assess visa needs and advise on pathways.
• Prepare and file submissions and notices for ART, Federal Court, and Home Affairs.
• Appear in court or tribunals on immigration matters on behalf of clients.
• Oversee visa applications and related legal documents for skilled and family visas.
• Analyze immigration legislations and supporting materials for visa decisions.
• Loster, gather evidence, coordinate witnesses and issue notices of proceedings.
• Advise clients on migration legislation, policy, and sponsor/compliance duties.
