Job summary

Bayside Health is advertising a Registrar role spanning HM25 to HM30, located at Peninsula University Hospital and Rosebud Hospital. The role focuses on acute care of critically ill patients under Senior Medical Staff, with emphasis on patient safety, risk management, and education.

We seek Australian/New Zealand trained graduates with strong critical care exposure or International Medical Graduates with provisional registration and relevant experience, joining a large, integrated health service

Qualifications

• Australian and New Zealand trained Medical Graduates: General Registration with AHPRA and at least four years of full-time medical employment post registration, with two years in Australian or New Zealand hospital systems and at least six months in Critical Care Medicine.
• International Medical Graduates: Limited/Provisional Registration with AHPRA (AMC MCQ Part 1 and Part 2) with at least four years of full-time medical employment post registration, including two years in Australian or New Zealand hospitals and at least one year in Critical Care Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care of critically ill patients under direction of the Senior Medical Staff.
• Ensure treating specialist is apprised of all significant changes in any patient under their care.
• Proactively deal with Patient Safety, Clinical Risk, and Quality Improvement issues related to patients under their care.
• Initiate, implement and monitor management of patients under supervision, incorporating appropriate testing and investigation.
• Support the development of an evidence-based medicine approach with patients.
• Support relevant research activities and seek ethics approval when needed.
