Job summary

St John of God Ballarat Hospital in Ballarat, VIC, is seeking an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to lead the ICU team on a permanent full-time basis. You will provide clinical leadership, coordinate ICU operations and support the Nurse Unit Manager in delivering safe, high-quality critical care services.

The role requires current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with recent ICU/critical care experience and prior leadership in a nursing role.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrated recent experience in an Intensive Care Unit or critical care environment.
• Previous leadership or senior nursing experience (ANUM, Clinical Nurse or equivalent) is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and support to the ICU nursing team to ensure patient-centred, high-quality care.
• Oversee day-to-day ICU operations: patient flow, bed management, staffing and clinical priorities.
• Collaborate with the Nurse Unit Manager and multidisciplinary team to deliver safe critical care services.
• Provide guidance and escalation for complex patient care and clinical matters.
• Lead staff rostering to ensure appropriate skill mix and safe staffing levels in the ICU.
• Contribute to quality improvement, risk management and clinical governance initiatives.
