Job summary

Synechron is seeking ICT Systems Test Engineers for our Melbourne team. This full-time permanent role offers responsibility for writing test plans, test scripts, and executing regression tests with both manual and automated approaches.

The successful candidate will contribute to test strategy, defect reporting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams in a banking and payments environment. Salary ranges from AUD 80,000 to 120,000 per annum, with growth potential as we expand globally.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in software testing in banking, cards, payments, insurance or financial services environment.
• Experience with manual, functional and regression testing.
• Exposure to automation testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Appium or UFT.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling and conducting quality audits and reviewing systems, data and documentation.
• Identify high-risk areas and variations in adherence to standards.
• Recommend corrective actions and improvements to resolve non-compliance.
• Communicate with users and management to ensure awareness of standards and quality control.
• Assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing, testing and resolving system problems.
• Provide technical guidance and training in applications and procedures.
• Analyze installation, maintenance, repairs and configuration issues across hardware and software.
• Test and diagnose functionality errors and code to ensure systems meet specifications.
• Contribute to system architecture reviews and future tech directions.
• Create and review technical documentation and reports.

Specifies, develops, and writes test plans and test scripts, produces test cases, carries out regression testing, and uses automated test software applications to test the behavior, functionality, and integrity of systems, and documents the results of tests in defect reports and related documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Scheduling and conducting quality audit inspections, and analyzing and reviewing systems, data and documentation.
• Identifying variations and potential high risk areas in securing adherence to standards and procedures.
• Recommending corrective action plans and improvements in the resolution of non-compliance with standards detected through monitoring and auditing of processes and procedures.
• Communicating, educating and liaising with users and management to ensure awareness and adherence to standards, procedures and quality control issues and activities.
• Assisting in troubleshooting, diagnosing, testing and resolving system problems and issues.
• Developing, conducting and providing technical guidance and training in application software and operational procedures.
• Analyzing, evaluating and diagnosing technical problems and issues such as installation, maintenance, repair, upgrade and configuration and troubleshooting of desktops, software, hardware, printers, Internet, email, databases, operating systems and security systems.
• Testing, identifying and diagnosing functionality errors and faults in systems, and programming code within established testing protocols, guidelines and quality standards to ensure systems perform to specification.
• Performing organizational systems architecture reviews and assessments, and recommending current and future hardware and software strategies and directions.
• Creating and reviewing technical documentation such as procedural, instructional and operational guides and manuals, technical reports and specifications and maintenance inventory systems.

Skills Required:

• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in IT highly regarded.
• Business orientation with strong IT background.
• 1+ year experience in software testing in banking, cards, payments, insurance or financial services environment.
• Experience on manual, functional and regression testing is good to have.
• Exposure to any of the automation testing tools like Selenium, Playwright, Appium, UFT etc. is desirable.
• Experience in business data gathering and configuration.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels.
