Job summary

Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking an experienced ICT Infrastructure Project Lead to join the ICT Infrastructure and Operations team. You will deliver complex ICT infrastructure projects across more than 83 health facilities, leading vendor relationships and reporting to the Manager of ICT Infrastructure and Operations.

This role requires a solid background in ICT project management, Prince2 or PMP certification, and the ability to manage budgets, risks and cross-functional

• Requires a tertiary qualification in ICT project management or significant equivalent work experience across ICT infrastructure projects.
• PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent project management certification (highly desirable).
• Willingness to participate in on-call rosters such as Major Incident Management. Eligibility to drive in NSW.

Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD) is seeking an experienced ICT Infrastructure Project Lead to join our ICT Infrastructure and Operations team. Reporting to the Manager of ICT Infrastructure and Operations, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering complex ICT infrastructure projects that support more than 83 health facilities across one of Australia's largest regional health districts. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a diverse portfolio of technology initiatives that are critical to the delivery of safe, reliable and innovative healthcare services. Current projects include network and data centre modernisation, end-of-life infrastructure replacement, redundancy design, clinical device rollouts, mobile and duress technology implementations, and ICT infrastructure supporting major health facility redevelopment projects across the district. Working alongside a highly skilled and collaborative team, you'll engage with a broad range of clinical, technical and project stakeholders to deliver infrastructure solutions that have a direct impact on patient care and operational excellence. About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, ICT Infrastructure and Operations, the ICT Infrastructure Project Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering a diverse portfolio of ICT infrastructure projects across Hunter New England Local Health District. You'll oversee projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality and governance standards. In this dynamic role, you'll work across clinical, corporate and technical environments, partnering with a broad range of stakeholders to translate operational needs into practical, deliverable project outcomes. You'll manage vendor and contractor relationships, monitor project risks, budgets and dependencies, and provide executive-level reporting to ensure informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. Your portfolio will span a wide range of infrastructure initiatives, including end-user device deployments, network and telephony upgrades, cloud and platform projects, and ICT infrastructure supporting clinical systems. Working closely with technical leads across Service Delivery, Network and Telephony, Infrastructure, Cloud and Platforms, and Infrastructure Delivery, you'll influence project outcomes and drive collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to successfully deliver critical technology solutions that support healthcare across the district.

About You

You are an experienced ICT project professional with a proven ability to deliver complex infrastructure projects in large and dynamic environments. Whether your background is in ICT, project management or a related discipline, you combine strong technical understanding with exceptional project delivery skills, ensuring initiatives are successfully delivered from planning through to implementation. You are a confident communicator and relationship builder, you excel at engaging with clinical, corporate and technical stakeholders, influencing outcomes and fostering collaboration without direct authority. You are skilled at managing competing priorities across a geographically dispersed organisation, balancing operational demands with project governance, risk management and strategic objectives. You demonstrate sound judgement, knowing when to resolve issues independently and when to elevate risks to ensure project success. Your experience managing vendors, contractors, project governance, reporting and stakeholder expectations enables you to deliver high-quality outcomes in fast-paced environments. Above all, you are resilient, adaptable and committed to improving healthcare through the successful delivery of innovative ICT infrastructure solutions.

You have or working towards:
