Job summary

The Business Agility Group is seeking an IBM Datastage SME for a short-term engagement based in Sydney, Australia. The role focuses on installing and upgrading IBM Datastage on Red Hat, with potential hybrid or remote work for the right candidate.

Applicants must be Australian citizens with Baseline security (NV1 preferred) and at least 5 years of local DataStage experience, including 11.7 installation, configuration, migration and testing.

Qualifications

• Migration and testing of DataStage environments essential.

• Assess current DataStage 11.7.1 environment and define target architecture.
• Install Production DataStage/ Information Server 11.7.1.6 on RHEL 9.6.
• Apply latest patches to supported level.
• Optionally enable Operations Console, IGC and metadata lineage.
• Configure new environment to mirror existing setup.
• Assist migration of jobs, configurations, metadata and scripts.
• Support regression testing and go-live validation.

Job description

We are seeking a highly capable IBM Datastage SME for one of our clients. This role will play a critical part in ensuring successful installation and upgrade of IBM Datastage on Red Hat. This is initially a short-term engagement, so is ideally suited to someone based in Sydney, Australia wholooking for work and as a stop-gap before the Christmas slow/shut-down. Remote/hybrid working will also be considered for the right candidate.

Please note, to apply applicants must have the following:

• All candidates must be an Australian Citizen and must have a minimum of Baseline security level (Negative Vetting Level 1 preferred) and yourapplication will not progress without it,
• The requisite skills and experience defined below, and
• At least 5 years of local experience with DataStage

Key Responsibilities:

• Investigate current 11.7.1 environment and define target architecture.
• Install a Production instance of Information Server 11.7.1.6 on RHEL 9.6.
• Apply patches to the latest supported level.
• Optionally implement latest capability such as Operations Console, IGC and configure DataStage operational metadata lineage.
• Configure the new environment to match the existing setup.
• Assist with the migration of assets (jobs, configurations, metadata, scripts).
• Assist with regression testing and resolving issues.
• Assist with go-live preparation and validation.

Mandatory skills required:

• Minimum of 5 years experience with:
  • DataStage 11.7 installation and configuration,
  • RHEL V9+, and
  • DataStage migration and testing.
