Job summary

Recruit Personnel is seeking an experienced hydraulic fitter to service, diagnose, repair and overhaul hydraulic systems for excavators, mobile cranes, hydraulic cylinders and rail-capable vehicle conversions. Role combines workshop and site-based work with occasional shifts for emergencies.

Essential qualifications include hydraulics/mechanical fitting trade, 3–5 years’ experience, and a current driver license; travel to sites and lifting heavy components are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or equivalent in hydraulics, mechanical fitting, heavy diesel fitting or similar.
• 3–5 years hands-on experience servicing and repairing excavators, mobile cranes and hydraulic cylinders.
• Proven experience rebuilding hydraulic cylinders and working with hydraulic pumps, valves and motors.
• A current Driver License.
• Willingness to travel to job sites and work in the field as necessary.
• Physically fit with the capacity to lift heavy components and work in confined spaces.
• Forklift, crane tickets and rail industry certifications.
• MIG and TIG welding experience.

Responsibilities

• Fault-find and diagnose hydraulic systems on excavators, mobile cranes and cylinders.
• Rebuild hydraulic cylinders and service hydraulic pumps, valves and motors.
• Build vehicle conversions to rail-capable specifications, in workshop and on site.
• Perform field work and respond to emergency call-outs as required.

Further expansion within their business sees them seeking an experienced Fitter to service, diagnose, repair and overhaul hydraulic systems for the likes of excavators, mobile cranes, hydraulic cylinders and vehicle conversions including hi-rail equipment.

Specifically your role includes fault-finding, cylinder rebuilds, and construction/builds of vehicle conversions to rail-capable specifications - workshop and site based. Your role may extend to shift work at times being emergency call-outs and extended hours during builds or breakdowns.

Essential requirements for the role include:
