Job summary

Centorrino Technologies is seeking a Network Engineer to support, maintain and continually improve network environments across our Small & Medium Business client base in Melbourne. You’ll work hands-on with switching, routing, firewalls, wireless, VPNs and voice services to keep client networks secure, stable and reliable.

In this role you will troubleshoot BAU incidents, analyse complex issues, monitor performance, and plan changes.

Qualifications

• Experience as Network Engineer with switching, routing, firewalls, wireless and VPN technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco routers, Aruba switches, Fortinet, Juniper and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Understanding of VLANs, Spanning Tree, HSRP/VRRP and LAG.
• Experience configuring firewalls, wireless controllers, IPsec site-to-site VPNs.
• Experience supporting SMB clients and balancing technical outcomes with commercial considerations.
• Experience planning network changes with strong documentation and risk management.
• Understanding of voice and SIP call flow troubleshooting with Teams, SBC and AudioCodes highly regarded.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve BAU network incidents and escalations across switching, routing, firewalls, wireless, VPNs and application-level firewall controls.
• Analyse complex network issues and restore services within agreed service levels, minimising client impact and repeat incidents.
• Monitor network performance and health, proactively identifying opportunities for patching, optimisation, capacity upgrades and improved reliability.
• Plan, implement and support network changes and upgrades, including firewall policies, routing, wireless deployments and infrastructure enhancements.
• Manage BGP routing configurations and troubleshoot peering issues to support network stability and effective path selection.
• Monitor and maintain IPsec site-to-site VPNs, resolving encryption, authentication, connectivity and tunnel stability issues.
• Ensure wireless networks provide appropriate coverage, performance and security, addressing interference, roaming and configuration issues.
• Maintain accurate network documentation, including diagrams, configuration standards, operational procedures and change records.
• Collaborate with internal teams and SMB clients to deliver secure, scalable and practical network solutions aligned to business requirements.
• Communicate technical issues, risks and recommendations clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Identify and implement proactive improvements across client network environments.
