Job summary

Care Forum in Sydney is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to provide assessment, diagnosis, and intervention across client groups. You will conduct speech, language, and dysphagia assessments, develop therapy plans, and monitor progress with outcome measures.

You will collaborate with families, carers and health professionals to deliver person-centered and culturally responsive care. The position is a contract, hybrid role based in Sydney with some home-based work depending on service needs.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in speech therapy, including assessment and intervention for a range of speech and communication needs.
• Experience with communication and language disorders across diverse age groups and cultural backgrounds.
• Competence in managing dysphagia, including safe swallowing assessments and recommendations aligned with best practice.
• Degree in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia (or equivalent professional body).
• Understanding of person-centered practice, trauma-informed care, and culturally responsive service delivery.
• Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and community settings.
• Ability to balance in-person and remote work, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate clinical records and reports.
• Current Working With Children Check, National Police Check, and the right to work in Australia; experience in community or non-profit settings is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct speech, language, and dysphagia assessments and develop evidence-based therapy plans.
• Collaborate with families, carers, support workers and health professionals to deliver person-centered care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service planning.
• Facilitate groups, workshops, and staff training as needed.
• Work in a contract, hybrid role based in Sydney, with some work-from-home depending on service needs.
