Job summary

CitiPower and Powercor is seeking a System Operations Generation Specialist to install, commission, operate and maintain mobile plant across Melbourne and regional Victoria. Base location negotiable with travel requirements across the region.

Salary range Pay Point 20 ($151,012) – Pay Point 24 ($176,701) plus 13% super and allowances. The role provides technical leadership for mobile plant, championing procedures and documentation and mentoring others in generator operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Electrical qualifications relevant to HV/LV switching and distribution.
• Experience with testing Electrical Plant, Protection & Control systems up to 500 kV or Industrial/Control systems.
• Proficiency in HV/LV switching operations.
• Strong understanding of distribution network configurations and load management.
• Protection settings and operations for mobile generators.
• Experience with SCADA, GIS and related engineering databases.

Responsibilities

• Assess network loads and deployment requirements for mobile plant.
• Coordinate transportation, site placement and site security for mobile plant.
• Conduct pre-start checks and generator synchronization to network.
• Conduct fault finding and problem-solving.
• Manage equipment maintenance, fleet readiness and rosters for peak periods.
• Provide detailed estimates for planned works and alternative options.
• Engage with stakeholders to integrate generation support into outage plans.
• Advise on procurement and augmentation of mobile plant fleet.
