Job summary

Verra Mobility seeks a Director, Edge Engineering in Melbourne to lead both hardware and software engineering and set the technical direction for international Edge solutions. This role spans architecture, product lifecycle, NPI and engineering performance, with a hybrid workflow and office presence in South Melbourne.

You will build capable engineering teams, drive roadmaps, and partner with Product and Operations to deliver scalable, secure technologies for real-world road safety applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or related discipline.
• Extensive leadership experience across hardware and software engineering.
• Experience with edge computing, AI/ML, sensing or computer vision is a plus.
• Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary hardware and software engineering across international operations.
• Set technical direction and influence architecture decisions for Edge products and platforms.
• Develop roadmaps balancing sustaining engineering, product improvement and new product development.
• Improve reliability, performance, security and scalability of deployed technology.
• Strengthen engineering processes, standards and delivery disciplines.
• Support New Product Introduction and ensure strong design and validation.
• Build engineering capability through planning, leadership and coaching.
• Partner with Product, Operations and business leaders to translate needs into technical solutions.
• Manage key engineering vendors and technology partners.
