Job summary

QBE is seeking a skilled Risk Control Testing Analyst to join the First Line Risk and Governance team in Sydney or Brisbane. This hybrid, full-time position focuses on testing and assurance of controls across AUSPAC, partnering with first line risk teams to assess design and operating effectiveness and deliver practical assurance insights.

You will engage stakeholders, identify control themes, and drive improvements to strengthen risk management and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in control testing, assurance, or a first line risk role.
• Knowledge of general insurance operations, products, risks and regulatory obligations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement with a high standard of customer service.
• Technical ability to assess evidence, identify themes and communicate practical recommendations.
• Curious mindset, sound judgement and a focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct control testing and control assurance activities across key processes, assessing design and operating effectiveness of controls.
• Engage with stakeholders to plan, deliver and communicate testing and assurance outcomes with professional, values-aligned service.
• Prepare clear, evidence-based observations and reporting that highlight control themes and support risk decisions.
• Provide practical recommendations to uplift control effectiveness and improve risk maturity across the business.
• Support ongoing improvement of testing methodologies, templates and reporting to drive consistency and quality.
