Job summary

Seven West Media is seeking an Associate DevOps Engineer to join its Software Engineering team in Western Australia. You will develop cloud-based platforms for The West Australian and other brands, automating deployments and enhancing security and telemetry.

You’ll work with Pulumi, Terraform, CDK and GitHub, using TypeScript/JavaScript and Python scripting. The role offers hybrid work, data processing, and cross-team collaboration in a dynamic media environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant IT qualifications such as a degree in Computer Science, certifications in Information Technology or Systems Administration.
• Developer, SRE, DevOps or AWS experience would be advantageous.
• Experience with, source control, automated testing, build and CI/CD tools including Pulumi, Terraform, CDK or similar, and GitHub would also be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Developing cloud based platforms for a number of solutions, including The West, The Nightly, PerthNow, 7NEWS, The Game, Community News plus 18 regional sites.
• Improving efficiency by automating all aspects of cloud infrastructure, configuration, testing and code deployments (CI/CD).
• Security hardening, monitoring, resolving any potential risks.
• Build and maintain applications and their cloud telemetry.
• Building and maintaining automation coverage of build and deploy pipelines using cloud-native services and containers.
• Working with multiple teams across technology and business.
• Working with data and ETL processes to manage data transformations.
