Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking a hardware engineer to join our team, supporting the design, validation and optimization of antennas and RF circuitry for our satellite network. You will work from concept through production, gaining exposure to the full design lifecycle alongside Senior Electrical Engineers.

The role involves designing antenna blocks, building proof-of-concept systems, collaborating on RF circuits, and leading PCB layout reviews, with opportunities to drive automated test systems and field

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Master's degree in electrical or computer engineering preferred.
• PhD in electrical/computer engineering is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize antennas system blocks.
• Develop proof-of-concept systems and prototypes for next-gen antennas.
• Collaborate on RF circuitry design with RF team.
• Design automated test systems and fixtures.
• Execute bring-up and test campaigns for active antennas.
• Lead and review PCB layout.

As a hardware engineer, you will work alongside Senior Electrical Engineers supporting the design, debug, validation and optimization of the products. You will be involved in projects from concept through production, gaining exposure to the complete design lifecycle.

Key job responsibilities

• Design and optimization of different blocks of antennas system
• Design the proof of concept systems and prototypes for the next generation of the antennas
• Design of RF circuitry in collaboration with RF team
• Design of automated test systems, test fixtures and factory test
• Bring-up and test campaigns of the active antennas
• Lead and review PCB layout

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems experience
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent
• Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience with hardware/software integration and real-time systems
• PhD in electrical engineering or computer engineering, or equivalent experience
• 1+ years of experience in using schematic
• 1+ years of experience with Mentor Graphics or Cadence layout tools
