Job summary

Johnson Controls in Melbourne seeks an experienced HVAC Technician to join the Service team. This field-based role covers maintenance, repairs, commissioning, and installations on commercial and industrial HVAC systems, with ongoing training and support.

You will work across maintenance, repairs, commissioning, and installations while developing your technical expertise through structured onboarding and access to YORK chiller training and BMS exposure.

Qualifications

  • Trade qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or Electrical with HVAC experience.
  • Experience servicing commercial air conditioning systems.
  • Chiller experience highly regarded.
  • Restricted Electrical Licence.
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-focused approach and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and scheduled maintenance across commercial HVAC systems.
  • Commission, install, service, troubleshoot, and overhaul mechanical equipment.
  • Work on equipment including chillers, package units, split systems, and central plant installations.
  • Gain exposure to Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Prepare quotations for small works and manage assigned service projects.
  • Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and plans.
  • Complete small commercial installations and upgrades.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring high safety standards.

About the Opportunity

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and motivated HVAC Technician to join our Melbourne Service team.

This hands-on field-based role offers excellent variety, autonomy, and exposure to a broad range of commercial and industrial HVAC systems. You'll work across maintenance, repairs, commissioning, and installations while developing your technical expertise through ongoing training and support.
