Job summary

Randstad is seeking a skilled HVAC trades professional to transfer refrigeration and air conditioning experience into the rail sector at our Eagle Farm workshop. You will work on high-capacity systems fitted to trains and locomotives, with steady workshop hours and a clean, safe environment.

Essential requirements include a Cert III in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration / HVAC Trade, ARCtick refrigerant handling licence, a valid driver’s licence, and strong troubleshooting and communication

Qualifications

• Cert III in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration / HVAC Trade.
• ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence.
• Valid Drivers licence.
• Strong troubleshooting ability, attention to detail and excellent verbal communication.
• Ability to complete a Rail CAT3 Medical, Drug & Alcohol and police check prior to commencement.

Responsibilities

• Execute repairs, overhauls, and preventative maintenance on heavy-duty locomotive and passenger rollingstock HVAC units.
• Assemble and test HVAC systems according to work instructions, manuals, and rigorous quality standards.
• Champion health, safety, and 5S/LEAN continuous improvement practices across the shop floor.

What Your Day-to-Day Looks Like:

Working alongside a collaborative workshop team, you will assemble, overhaul, repair, and test specialised HVAC systems:

• Assemble and test HVAC systems according to work instructions, manuals, and rigorous quality standards.

What We're Looking For:

• Ambition to step into formal team leading or management in the future.
