Job summary

Industry Refrigeration and Air Conditioning in Cairns is seeking a first-year apprentice to join a small, hands-on team. You’ll work alongside a qualified technician on installs, service and breakdowns, gaining real trade experience from day one.

No experience needed. You’ll get indentured training, uniforms and tools, and a clear path from apprentice to qualified technician while serving resorts, hotels, commercial kitchens and boats across Far North Queensland.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in the trade and a willingness to turn up and learn
• Current driver's licence (or working towards it)
• Reasonable physical fitness — roofs, ladders, plant rooms, Cairns heat
• Right to work in Australia
• Reliable, on time, phone answered
• Nice to have: White Card, Blue Card, any prior hands-on or trade experience

Responsibilities

• Work alongside a qualified tech on installs, service and breakdowns
• Domestic split systems through to commercial refrigeration, ducted and VRF, cool rooms, and marine cooling
• Learn to diagnose faults, braze, evacuate, charge and commission systems properly
• Keep the van, tools and site tidy and safe
• Talk to customers respectfully — they're the reason we're there

Industry Refrigeration and Air Conditioning – Cairns QLD

Start your trade with a crew that actually trains you

We're a Cairns-based refrigeration, air conditioning and HVAC business — a team of around 13 looking after resorts, hotels, commercial kitchens, pubs, boats and homes right across Far North Queensland.

We're taking on a first year apprentice. No experience needed. You'll be paired with a qualified tradesperson from day one — not handed a broom and forgotten about.

What you'll be doing

Already started your apprenticeship somewhere else?

Still send it through. If you're part-way through your Cert III and looking for a better crew to finish it with, we'll take over your training contract and you won't lose the time you've already put in. Just tell us what year you're up to.
