Job summary

Egis Group is seeking a Secondary Engineer to join the Transmissions team in Australia. You will design panel layouts, schematics, protection settings, and wiring schedules for HV and EHV terminals and substations, ensuring high technical standards.

With a minimum of five years in electrical transmission, you will bring a degree in Electrical Engineering and proven experience above 66 kV, plus IEC 61850 knowledge. You’ll collaborate across stakeholders to deliver safe, reliable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' relevant industry experience in electrical transmission projects.
• Electrical Engineering Degree (or equivalent) required.
• Right to live and work full-time in Australia.
• Demonstrated experience with secondary design in networks above 66 kV (66kV+).
• Experience with IEC 61850 and related schemes.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Undertake secondary design for substations and terminal stations to high technical standards.
• Manage outcomes within budget and project schedule constraints.
• Participate in peer reviews and verify design accuracy.
• Direct detail design from concept to final implementation within scope and budget.
• Identify and manage scope variations per client and project requirements.
