Job summary

CoMade is seeking a Primary HV Engineer to own HV primary designs from concept to construction across large substations and transmission projects in Australia. You will lead technical solutions for 132kV-330kV+ systems, mentor engineers, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

The role demands strong knowledge of AS/NZS and IEC standards, proficiency with CAD tools, and a proactive approach to design optimisation and innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of HV primary design and substation design (132kV+ preferred).
• Experience with CAD tools (MicroStation, AutoCAD, REVIT).
• Familiarity with AS/NZS, IEC, NSP/TNSP standards and grid compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the primary design and development of HV primary systems (132kV-330kV+).
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams.
• Develop detailed primary design deliverables and documentation for substations.
• Coordinate with civil/structural/secondary disciplines for integrated designs.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to deliver outcomes.
• Resolve complex technical issues balancing cost, time, quality.
• Drive design optimisation, constructability, and innovative solutions.
