Job summary

Ampcontrol's High Voltage Field Service team in Gladstone is seeking a hands-on Trades Assistant to support the maintenance, testing and reliability of critical electrical infrastructure across Queensland. You will work across workshop and field environments, gaining exposure to high voltage equipment while traveling to customer sites.

Ideal candidates bring field service experience, a current driver's licence, White Card and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience in field service, industrial, utility, mining, manufacturing or oil & gas environments.
• Current Driver's Licence.
• White Card (General Construction Induction).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• The ability to work away from home when required.
• Basic computer skills incl. Microsoft Office apps.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support technicians and electricians with field service and project work.
• Conduct visual condition assessments of transformers.
• Collect transformer oil samples for testing and analysis.
• Assist with transformer testing and maintenance activities.
• Prepare, organise and deliver materials for jobs.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas to a high standard.
• Complete job documentation and reports.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Support site isolations and safe work practices.
• Travel to customer sites across the region and Queensland as required.
